They say that flying is the safest type of public transport. But that doesn’t stop you doing everything you can to avoid it.

If you start going clammy and nervous at the thought of flying, start by deciding which of the common flying fears below is the one that affects you most and tackling that first.

1. Fear of heights

Flying is the definitely up there on the “that’s high” scale. With a cruising altitude of 30,000 feet or so, that is well up there on the chart of high-ness. But inside a plane, it’s really more like a noisy bus most of the time, especially if you choose an aisle seat. If your height fear is the part of your fear of flying that’s the strongest “eek” then it may well pay you to work on that first.

It’s unlikely you’ve always been afraid of heights. So relax and treat yourself to a hypnosis MP3 for fear of heights which will melt your fear away quickly and easily.

2. Fear of confined spaces

When they’re asked to actually think about it, a lot of people figure that it’s claustrophobia is actually the majority of their flying fear. Beacuse you’re going to be crammed into a tiny seat with almost no leg room for likely several hours. Maybe also squashed in by other passengers sitting either side of you. Anyone would feel cramped (that’s why first class costs more). As before, because it can tackle your fear at a deeper level that you can on your own and is cheap, hypnosis should be your first technique to ease your fear.

3. Lack of control

Not everyone likes admitting this one. Most of us like to be control of a situation (or at least pretend we’re in charge) that delegating that control to someone we don’t know and an in-flight computer, we get worried, big time. Unless you get a pilot’s licence, you’re not likely to be flying your own plane. Even though all those disaster movies show regular passengers piloting planes. So again it’s a matter of chilling a bit and accepting that the guy at the front in that smart uniform wants to land at the destination, same as you do. Give yourself permission to relax and delegate all that responsibility to someone else.

All the fears above (and many others) can be removed or reduced by hypnosis. Download a hypnosis track for the fear that’s grabbing you most or download a specific hypnosis MP3 for fear of flying now.
